All those of you who joined us for the Community Unity day at the Jumpers Scout Hut in Christchurch must agree what a great day it was! Over 100 people attended the event, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Christchurch, who judged the children’s Halloween Fancy Dress competition and also helped out with the presentation of other prizes.
The idea behind the Community Unity day was to allow you to talk about your concerns regarding antisocial behaviour while having a fun time. Representatives from the Police, the Fire Service and many different local youth services were all on hand to offer advice to residents. The Funky Little Choir, a choir comprising people of all ages and abilities from the local community, alsoprovided some musical entertainment.
And it was great to see some of our young residents taking part. A special mention goes to Harry McGill for his outstanding solo performance. A big thank you goes to our contractors, Ian Williams, Pre-heat and ROK for kindly sponsoring the fancy dress competition and the grand raffle.
