 Advice for leaseholders

This information applies to:

  • leaseholders in a Sovereign Twynham property, and
  • anyone thinking of buying a property from a leaseholder.

If you live in one of the homes we manage for Sovereign Housing Association and you are not sure if you have the 'right to buy' or the 'right to aquire' your property please contact Sovereign's senior customer accounts administrator on 01635 572194.

A leaseholder is someone who has bought a lease on their property, this could be a house, bungalow or in most cases a flat.  We are the freeholder and manage the property.

You may have bought your property on the open market, however, at some stage your property would have been purchased from either Christchurch Council (before 28 March 1991) or from us (after 28 March 1991) through either the ‘right to buy’ or ‘right to acquire’ schemes.
